The Grade 6 programme will establish an understanding of the Formal Elements of Art and Principles of Design. Composition, as well as essential observation and drawing skills will be the primary focus of this year. Students will create a variety of artworks in different media while exploring the central themes of Portraiture and Still Life.
The Grade 7 programme will build upon and continue to develop the skills established in Grade 6. Students will explore working in a number of genres and styles, creating work in a variety of 2-Dimensional media. The Grade 7 course will also provide an introduction to sculpture. As in Grade 6, students will study and consider the work of traditional as well as contemporary artists.

The Midde School Art programme is designed to provide students with opportunitues to build their art making skills as well as their understanding of the work of other artists.

In Grade 8 the focus will be on the process of developing artwork through experimentation of media and techniques. Students will be guided in working towards creating artwork that is developed from more abstract starting points and design based projects will be introduced. This year will provide students with a sound foundation for the IGCSE Art and Design course.
